Another one!
Huh! Another designer I admired but didn't know the name of! Christopher David Ryan (see below) did this poster, which I always thought was pretty cool, and clever. This is why I'm doing this blog, to help me keep things organised and referenced!
Beautiful images
I wish I could create such things on a daily basis. These are by Christopher David Ryan, found via Oh Joy! Such an incredible range of styles, awe inspiring.
This one's good for textiles - for me anyway...

Afternoon film
What a lovely lazy Sunday afternoon I had this weekend. Having braved the bitter wind outside in the morning I decided I was better off curling up with a girly film I'd been meaning to watch for a while: The Edge of Love. I knew it was meant to have great costumes but it really blew me away. And the sets were fantastic too. Made me want to go out and get me some of those 40's chunky granny cardigans that are so in vogue right now, mainly down to this film methinks, and Keira and Sienna. Oh how I love the mismatching!

Rob Ryan
I am in love yet again with Rob Ryan's paper work. Funnily enough I was already in love with his work, I just didn't know who he was. I'm very bad at that. I should look these people up. In my previous post on my favourite books I featured "The Book of Lost Things" by John Connolly, whose cover Rob Ryan designed, and through reading this month's issue of Computer Arts I saw some more of his work. To his website I went! Oh, how I'd love to create such visions! I'm gonna go buy all his work now!

An anxious blogger...
I'm feeling a little lost here, not knowing where to go with the whole blogging thing. Seems I take the attitude towards blogging that I do to design and everything else I do. It's frought with worry and doubt. And the wish to be original. Which is truely a pointless thing to try and achieve, originality. I guess a lot of original things can come out of "copying" something you like as you put your own spin on it. At least that's what I've read... Thoughts please...
Is "frought" a word?
So in my frantic way of trying to find something to blog, that will be of interest, I look back to the ol' internet bookmark archive and found these which I forgot how much I loved by ANTIGIRL. Anywhoo, advice on blogging, as you can see would me most welcome. I'm guessing you can tell I'm one of those people who like inspirational quotes...can I feel a blog coming on? I'm predictable so yes, that may well be my next blog. Hopefully I can find something other than just those "Keep calm and carry on" posters.
Anyway, some pretty pics...

Hanna Werning
I was aware of Hanna Werning's designs but didn't know who had made them until yesterday thanks to my friend Hannah! Especially love the Anna Sui Spring/Summer 08 pattern below. I want that dress. Looks like I am into fashion textiles after all, Hannah!

New Jewellery Crush
I'm a big fan of jewellery, and usually stick to the high street but have been finding it harder and harder to find 'special' jewellery. The kind you want to place carefully in a pretty, velvet-lined box, that which you would mourn for for days were you to lose it. So my mission for beautiful jewellery has started, and let me tell you, the internet is one big treasure trove.
My fave at the mo is Lee May Foster of Bonbi Forest. Truely precious designs. I want them!!! The website is really cool too.
Gorgeous paper sculptures
When in my Textiles class yesterday I spotted a Crafts magazine lying around with a wonderful picture of Su Blackwells Wild Flowers.
Isn't it amazing? I love books and consider cutting them a sacrilege but it can look so perfect and delicate. They're so magical!

Cool kids rooms
How cool are these kids bedrooms? I would have loved these when I was little. I had a cabin bed, I found that quite exciting but always wanted the ones that had the desk underneath. These are something else though!
